Peter
Van der Burgh, Consultant
Peter van der Burgh is an Associate Consultant for FranklinCovey
Malaysia and specializes in Life management seminars – particularly
in the ‘What Matters Most’ curriculum. He is also a specialist
in the applications of the world-renowned FranklinCovey PlanPlus
software for PDA users that features the FranklinCovey principles
into an integrated electronic planning system.
Peter
is currently also a Senior Financial Consultant of the Montpelier
Group Nordic and a significant highlight in his work has been
the setting up a new Personal Financial Life Plan in Asia according
to European Customer Protective Advice Standards to service
expatriates living and working overseas.
Peter
started his career in The Hague, Holland as an Aegon Financial
advisor and in 1993 he set up his own insurance brokerage office
servicing over 1000 clients. His exemplary service record with
clients resulted in him being invited by Delta Lloyd in 1997
to work as a Life Account Manager with the responsibility of
improving the sales performance of over 30 international brokers
during which time Peter developed and introduced sales and life
insurance educational modules as well as account management
planning formats. The significant performance improvement of
these international brokers led him to be head-hunted by Delta
Lloyd’s largest broker Nationaal Spaarfonds NV to coach and
mentor 125 financial advisors and 8 sales directors. The results
of Peter’s involvement meant that Nationaal Spaarfonds NV had
reached in 2005 the level of expertise needed to comply with
the Dutch and European Financial Customer Protective Legislation.
Apart
from a successful career in sales and coaching in the Financial
and Insurance Broking industry, Peter’s fields of expertise
is in Commercial Economics and International Marketing which
he studied in Groningen, Holland. Peter is also a certified
NLP practitioner and trainer, and has received accolades for
his expertise in this field.
Peter
is a Master in the martial arts of Kung Fu and indulges himself
in golf, the cultivation of bonsai, playing the piano, reading,
and traveling around the world. He coaches kids in hockey and
has a passion for cooking Chinese and Indonesian dishes as well.
He
loves working with people of all levels and nationalities, and
cares in helping people realize their fullest potential. As
a true motivator he coaches people in an inspiring way to improve
effectiveness and life quality.
